Guess where we went last Sunday? We went to the zoo!
It was an impromptu decision to go to the zoo. We planned to go on Friday initially but changed our minds when we realised that we did not have any transport to bring us there. Then we decided to go on Saturday instead but our Saturday was taken up running errands and we had a wedding dinner to attend in the evening so we gave up on that idea too.
Come Sunday, we woke up really early to go to church. It was around 2 pm when we came home from church and had our lunch. Seeing that it was still early and you looked too awake to want to nap, we decided on the spot to bring you to the zoo!! Off I went packing your stuffs and I called Auntie Grace to invite Min Min to join us too. I thought you would like to meet up with Min Min and play together.
We reached the zoo at around 3 pm and signed up for the Friends of the Zoo membership which allows us unlimited access to the zoo all year round. Such a good deal and we find it hard to resist! We can foresee that we'll be bringing you to the zoo more often as you grow older so getting the card seems like the right thing to do.
By the time we finished going through the application process and board the tram, it was already 3:15 pm and we started taking photos excitedly and showing and pointing the animals to you. You got a little sleepy on the tram but you were very interested in the animals that the tram passed by. We alighted at station 3 to catch the elephant show. After the elephant show, I had to sling you coz your eyes looked really sleepy by then.
We waited for Auntie Grace to arrive with Min Min and then started exploring the zoo together. We took the treetop trail and saw some monkeys. I even held your hand to touch a snake. It was exciting and you weren't scared! We also went to see the polar bear and the penguins and the sealions!
Our last stop is at Children's World Play Area. You went crazy the moment I let you loose. You crawled towards the pool and was so eager to play with the water. You had a great time playing and Min came to join you after a while. I had to take your pants off and leave you with only your diaper and shirt. Ha Ha! We let you play for quite a while until it was getting cold. We left the zoo after we cleaned and changed you.
It was an enjoyable day for all of us. I promise we'll be going to the zoo very often now!
